Sorry to post to the whole group, my response bounced
back with a message that it could not be delivered.
Maybe this is a worth discussion for the entire group
anyway.
Hi Joyce, I am curious about why you feel you need to
justify purchasing a book recommended for gr 5-8.
Given that the book is of a quality you would approve
for your school, if a book is recommended for gr. 5
then it is usually appropriate for that level, end of
problem. A book recommended for gr. 6-9, that you
might need to justify. I have three K-5 buildings and
purchase many gr. 5-8 and some gr. 6-8 or 9 if the
subject is appropriate and the book is a good "safe"
read for 10-11 year olds.
Just my opinion and I have nothing to back it up but
may years of experience.
