"The short story was released in an anthology during Black History Month some time
in the last four-five years. It is about a young slave mother working the cotton
fields; she leaves her baby in a trough at the end of a row. She works her way to
the other side of the field; a storm comes in, and before she can get back to her
baby, the trough fills with rain and drowns the baby. "
