Hello everyone,
I have agreed to teach a day camp program for children of church employees at a
local church this summer two days per week. We have total flexibility with any
programs/curriculum we want to do for the day, and I will be working with a very
enthusiastic and hard working assistant who's willing to try almost anything with
the students. The day will begin at 9:00 AM and end at 2:00 PM. We will schedule
in lunch time and outside playground time.
Here's the problem: We will have about 20 students ranging in age from five months
to a few entering 5th grade. I am racking my brain to figure out the best way to
schedule the day. I want to be organized so that these children will not be
running around in circles with nothing to do (which I have witnessed), with a
variety of activities for all ages. If you have any suggestions about the schedule
of the day, or a sample schedule, or advice regarding this endeavor, please email
me (and please, don't say, "run for your life!"). I really want to try and make
this multi-age arrangement work the best it can for the students' and my sanity's
sake.
Thanks in advance,
