Dear LM_NET Members:
This is my first posting to LM_NET. I tried to read all of the
directions and I hope I am doing this correctly! I will post a HIT
after a period of time. I am aware that there has been discussion on
this topic before because I checked the archives, but I wanted to get
some current repsonses. The latest dates in the archives were from
2004. I have also posted this to the MAMELIST listserv, so I apologize
for any cross-postings.
I am serving on a committee that will be revamping the elementary report
card. I need responses with the following information in relation to
giving grades for Library classes:
* a brief description of your situation (fixed or flexible schedule?)
* Do you give grades?
* If you do give grades, what kind are they (A, B, C, etc. or Positive,
Needs Improvement)?
* How often do you mark report cards?
* Do you feel that giving grades is effective?
* Do you know of any research that supports giving grades, especially
in a fixed schedule situation?
Thanks so much for your time.
