[LM_NET] SHARE: Collaboration Grant

I just wanted to share some good news that came yesterday
morning....right in the middle of library instruction with the 4th
graders.....

I had "collaborated" (per Toni Buzzeo) with one my science teachers
during the winter break on a grant proposal for some new science
materials (for the library), as well as an LCD projector and the
necessary connections (audio, screen, etc.) to make the system work
for the teacher in her classroom (so she could access United Streaming
videos which the district provides but she could never use).  We wrote
in our grant that we would also be creating a "Science Website" that
would be updated and utilized by the students to announce to parents,
younger students, and other visitors, what they were doing in their
science classes---and they (5th-6th graders) would also be hosting a
podcast describing the activities, insights, and science ideas that
they'd learned every 6 weeks using the website.

Yesterday I received the "Publisher's Clearinghouse" news (via
flowers, balloons, men in suits, photographers, the media, and a big
cardboard check) that we had won the $5,000 grant!  The teacher is
ecstatic about this and keeps saying, "I'm bringing everything to you,
now!"

So, I guess I'll really be able to "collaborate" with my science
teacher(s) more as we'll be working together to implement this project
to increase our students' TAKS scores in Science!
