<>A teacher in my district is looking for a novel to use as an
alternative for Roll of Thunder because the student has already read it
(and hated it).
<>He is an 8th grader, an excellent and avid reader we want to
challenge. The teacher would like to offer another classic
African-American title but wants to avoid some of the controversial
content of AA books on many high school reading lists. We're having
trouble with that.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Alma
