[LM_NET] Need help with Book title

Hello.  I have a teacher looking for a book title.  Below is her email.

"I am looking for a book that I read aloud to my class last year.  I
have not been able to remember the title.  I think it's an upper level
(higher than 2nd grade) and the main character is a girl and it's her
birthday and she sees a leprechaun.  I can't remember his name, but I
know that he has 4 or 5 names.  He dies in the end of the book...it's a
great book.   "
