It was interesting that while we were having this Lucky discussion our local TV
station was featuring a story about an area public library with a kind of opposite
problem. I'll try and type this so it will get past filters. Seem a 14 yr had gone
to the library and brought home a movie that was rated on the box not for under 18
and a book call "The Big Book of P##n"( title might be a little different as my
memory is gettin older but the biggest word on the title was the last and the book
was thick) The parent was highly upset a. that his 14 yr old could check this out
and b. that in the case of the book his tax money was being spent on this. The
station dealt mostly with the first issue and reported that the libraries in the
are have no restrictions on who can check out what regardless of age. They
recommended that parent accompany their kids to the library if they wanted to
regulate their checkouts. ( like that's going to happen with a teenager!) I don't
want to start
another big thread about this but I thought it was interesting to see another side
of this issue. Darlene
PS MY email is set to respond to sender only. I have to go up and change it to
post to the list. This is an easy way to make sure that you are sending to everyone
when you meant to reply to a single persons target.
