Sherry was wondering about whether others have an equally hard time
locating fiction books to tie-in with curriculum topics. Her current
dilemma is colors and shapes for the little ones.
As a children's author myself, I'm always interested in what we librarians
need and aren't finding in the area of curriculum connections. I think it
would be an interesting once-a-month posting to the list.
The trick, of course, for authors is coming up with a wonderful STORY that
involves the curriculum topics. So far, my five books have tons of
connections in Science and Social Studies (and for The Sea Chest, some in
math).
I always love hearing what is hard to find in case it should inspire me in
some way!
Best,
Toni
