[LM_NET] Target: "Googling" and relevance

Now that school is over, I had a chance to relax with some friends. One  of them 
mentioned the enormous amount of money he was spending for a  fabulous website 
designer to update his business site. The owner's goal  is to become the No. 1 or 2 
result when someone searches for his type  of business (without being a sponsored 
result). Please refresh my  memory as to what criteria gets you to the top of the 
regular Google  results list. The designer told him it was the "volume" of your  
website, which in his case will be huge. That did not sound right to me.
  Please reply off the listserv so I can find your response.
