AACCKKK!!!! Don't throw slide projectors out no matter what!!
They are no longer made, as he said, and the refurbished ones at our best
discount camera store in NYC run $300-$600!
AP Art History exams require 2 slide projectors per room (including the
rooms for extended time). That way they can put two slides side by side for
comparison questions. As our projectors get older and older, I fear there
will be a year when they will not be available at all. This year I scrounged
one to lend to another school, and prayed nothing went on the fritz (sorry,
Fritz) before the exam.
No doubt you could easily unload any working slide projectors. Eventually
the AP folks will see the light and use CDs for this exam; I have encouraged
our AP administrator to suggest it. In the meantime, e-bay them or send word
out through LM-Net. I'm sure there are folks who would be happy to pay
shipping at least!
