Robert,
Aside from his home environment and being disruptive, what other
things can you tell us about him? Was he "on track" academically
---or was this one of the reasons why he "didn't get it?"
I had one of those classes this year with a few of those 5th and 6th
graders...so I think I know what you're talking about. I worked
around some of my issues with my trouble-makers, with some success.
However, could you describe a really irritating incident or some of
the things that would cause him to disrupt the class? Was he on an
IEP or was he just a kid with some issues that needed to be addressed
one-on-one?
