[LM_NET] Elem: Multicultural Lesson Plan

I'm in need of some help with constructing a lesson plan that integrates
(5) picture books that feature the same culture group set within the US.

I can come up with the (5) books of several different groups, but I'm having 
trouble coming up with what to actually do with them for the lesson. Any ideas?

NOTE:  this cannot be the customary food, festivals, dress, etc. type of lesson.
They have to be tied together, but not using that kind of approach.

(I checkd the archives for "multicultural lesson" but came up with mostly 
secondary/ ESL type lessons.)

Thank you for any help in jumpstarting my sluggish summer brain.
