[LM_NET] Administrators Who Make Our Best Practice Possible

Many of us are fortunate to work with administrators who are highly 
attuned to the needs of students regarding information literacy and 
the needs of school communities regarding well-funded libraries and 
professional staffing.  They may not always be able to effect 
immediate change, but they are often our best partners in the 
battle.  I have had the good fortune to work for and with several 
supportive principals, directors of curriculum, and superintendents 
over the many years of my teaching career.  They have enabled my best 
practice in the present as well as my professional and personal 
growth as an educator.

I'd like to pay tribute to them now, most especially to Coley, 
Eleanor, Sheila, Joanne, Ira, Miriam, Heather, and--in the here and 
now--Don.  They understood the mission.  They believed in the 
positive outcomes of student learning and achievement.  They fought 
the battle for and with me and my colleagues.

Thank heaven for administrators who make student learning and 
achievement through libraries a top priority!
