[LM_NET] TECH: diverence between -R & +R

We don't have a cd or dvd burner at school or at home, but I have recently
seen and wondered what the difference was  between dvd-r and dvd+r

I looked on the Memorex website but they do not give a clear description.
Can anyone help?
