If you want to get really "educational" with your Groundhog Day
festivities....here's a great project to collaborate with a teacher
on. It's PROJECT GROUNDHOG....
http://www.cdli.ca/Groundhog/NewGhog/
You can sign up this week and your students will track the weather to
determine if the Groundhog (Phil) actually forecasts the weather. A
great way to incorporate books, websites, and a project (with charts,
graphs, and other great scientific ideas) into the library /
classroom.
And by the way, if you're looking for a new Groundhog book....
Substitute Groundhog by Pat Miller is a new title.....and this month's
(February's) Library Sparks has the Reader's Theater for the book in
it.
I loved it because of the "Texas connection"...but it's great to share
with students who enjoy these types of "holiday" books....
Enjoy!
