Hello,

A huge thank you to all who took the time to respond to my original Target:

Hello,
Our school Rabbi has asked me for some help. She seeks the following: 1) I am
trying to figure out a sensible way to 'do' stuff in Hebrew here. I know I need
some sort of dictionary (English-Hebrew) and the ability to print out single words
in Hebrew in a nice-looking, clear font. 2) I would also like to be able to
search for certain texts using key phrases. 3) Do you have any library pals in
the "Hebrew" world, who could suggest a software program I could buy, out of my own
budget?

Hit:

The vast majority of responses recommended software from a company called Davka <<
http://www.davka.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi
<https://mail.hw.com/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.davka.com/cgi-bin/index.cgi>
 . >>

I also received excellent alternatives as in this extensive and very helpful
response:

Microsoft operating systems come with language packages. All you need is to install
them from the OS disc. You will also need a keyboard that has the Hebrew fort on it
(or you can paint the font on the keys). Once you install additional language
(Windows includes tens of languages) you will have a language icons on the tool bar
where you can switch from left-to-right to right-to-left.Printer should support
most font (old printers may need a driver update) In order to view Hebrew
websites, you need to activate the 'Hebrew' language in <tools> <Options>
<Languages>

2) I would also like to be able to search for certain texts using key phrases.

Try http://www.gate2home.com/
<https://mail.hw.com/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.gate2home.com/>  - this
site will allow you to type in any language from your keyboard and then copy and
paste (also into search bars)

3) Do you have any library pals in the "Hebrew" world, who could suggest a
software program I could buy, out of my own budget?

Just to type in Hebrew, you don't need any software. Windows Operating system
support most languages including Hebrew.
