[LM_NET] Copyright question -- posting readings online with password for students to access

A teacher wants to cut down the amount of photocopying. She asked me if it will 
violate the copyright if she scans the readings (articles, excerpts from books or 
curriculum supplements) and posts them online with a password requirement for her 
students to access?

Is it ok?
