Hi Everyone
I had asked for help on gathering primary sources for North American
settlements and got some really great responses (will post a hit)...but I am
still in need of at least one primary source document for the following
settlements: St. Augustine and New Amsterdam (new Netherland). More
specifically, I need first hand accounts for 5th graders to read regarding
why those settlers left and what it was like for them settling in a new
world.
I know this is pretty specific, and if I am not hopeful that I will find
exactly what kind of document I am looking for, but any letters or documents
from these settlements would be helpful.
If any one out there knows that this exists, please let me know! I keep
looking through the American Memory Project and haven't found anything- yet.
Thanks!
