[LM_NET] GEN: What's wrong with the overhead?

One of our teachers bought an overhead proj. off eBay for her daughter to play with 
- she likes to play teacher. The overhead only projects a circle of light in the 
middle of the screen. What is wrong and can it be fixed?
I have seen this before but I don't remember what, if anything, we did about it.
