Does anybody have a passage that is "trash or treasure" ready? I have heard of this
assignment (for teaching information literacy) whereby a student is given a passage
and a pencil and a highlighter. He reads the passage and highlights the relevant
information ("treasure") while crossing out the fluff ("trash"). I am about to
embark on a 6-week adventure of teaching the Info Lit. GLE's to 7th and 8th graders
in a once-a-week, stand-alone session.
Thank you for your help (and any ideas you might care to share)!
Sincerely,
Carrie Wilson, K-12 SLMS
