Hello everyone,
I am in my first year at a high school that has a very outdated
collection. The average science book in the 500 section was published
in the 1970's.
I have been spending a lot of time working on the fiction section
which was also very old and unappealing. However, I feel the need to
work on the non-fiction. (Interestingly, the reference section is
very large and current. Apparently that was the focus in the past.)
So, I have been searching titlewave, looking to purchase some new
science books, but I am quickly becoming overwhelmed. Does anyone
have a recommendation for a good way to update a whole section of
their collection? Going book by well-reviewed book seems very time-
consuming and overwhelming. I did start with the science teachers,
who had very little input and don't really seem to use the library at
this point.
Any advice from anyone who has inherited a very outdated collection
would be much appreciated.
