My first home computer was a TI99 - with a tape drive and a voice 
synthesizer and it still works ( we got it up and running to run the poetry 
program and my grandson got a big kick out of it). We then got as Commodore 
64 followed quickly by an Amiga ( which had 4 processors and was great at 
multi-tasking)
- At school we had 6 TI99s - I taught BASIC to K-8 - and then were lucky 
enough to get to get 2 TRS-80s and then got a chance to get 4 Apples. The 4 
Apples were a bust, though, as we were a Catholic grade school and  had to 
have them modified so they could only be used for Math - Remember we had to 
keep materials and equipment bought with Federal and State funds separate 
from those purchased with school funds,  after all, the pastor might 
possibly come over and use them to write his sermon, or the nuns might want 
to use the art program to make something for the religion classes. <gr>....
