I bought my first computer in 1992. It was a Mac IIci (fairly high
end) which I went all out on - it had 8megs of RAM and an 80 meg hard
drive. Better yet I bought a Radius monitor which I still mourn as it
was about the best idea going. The monitor rotated from portrait to
landscape depending on what was needed. Total cost of that system:
$5000.00!! My daughter used that computer through high school - she
graduated in 2001. The monitor pooped out (software wouldn't rotate
any more) but otherwise it all still works. Takes about 20 minutes to
boot up now though.
