[LM_NET] TAR HS: Fiction books set from 1945-1960

Our U.S. history students, primarily sophomores, have been assigned to read a book 
set between the years of 1945 and 1960.  It can be either non-fiction or fiction 
and does not need to be strictly American.  If you can help me with fiction books 
set in that time period, I'd be extremely grateful.  (The non-fiction ones are 
easier to find.)  Sadly, I was not consulted before the assignment was given so I'm 
scrambling to find materials quickly.
