Whoa!!! I just read back my post to myself, and the part about Hooter's Restaurant
should have read, "I'm NOT suggesting a movement against that restaurant's name..."
In view of the recent quoting out-of-context issues and using information from our
posts in news articles, I should have proofed this posting better. If I'm not
careful, I'll be quoted in the paper as a crazed librarian wanting to shut down
Hooter's Restaurant. I have no desire to shut them down or quibble with them over
their crude use of the word hooters. It's certainly not the first and won't be the
last restaurant to use women's anatomy in a tasteless manner. So, to reiterate my
position, I was simply commenting on the ludicrous objection to the word vagina in
its innocuous state as a word in a play's name as compared to the titillating and
continued use of the word hooters by this restaurant chain.
