Anything by Jan Brett! Everyone is a picture delight as well as great
story matter! The Umbrella is about the rainforest, The Mitten is an
updated version of the story that is Ukrainian in origin, The Hat,
Daisy Comes Home (background is China), The Christmas Trolls (Norway),
etc, etc. etc. The art teacher should love it!

The art teacher at my school would like to start buying books for her
new grandchildren. Of course she really wants to get ones with great
illustrations. I am a secondary person so other than the Caldecott list
I don't really know what to recommend to her. So, elementary people....
