The recent discussion of the continuing battle to fight the problem of teachers
pensions reducing Social Security payments was enlightening. I am currently not
vested in the CT teachers plan and am planning to move. What I want to know is, in
which states do techers paricipate in Social Security as part of their retirement?
Does anyone from VA or TN know if they do? I am already licensed in those states
and have been considering them as prime places to move. However, I am too old to
want to start working on a job that will only lead to my losing one inadequate
pension to only gain another inadequate pension.
Please contact me off list at dtissair@comcast.net.
