Is it safe to simply close out all of your open programs on a Vista
laptop and then close the lid to put it to sleep?
I have been doing this lately rather than going through the standard
shutting down process by going to the Start icon and selecting "Turn
Off" the computer.
This method seems to put the laptop into hibernation....and makes
startup quick and easy.
If there is no harm in doing this, how often should the laptop be
rebooted? Once a week? My wife uses her iMac several times a day and
reboots only when absolutely necessary--possibly once a month.
Can a new Vista laptop be treated with the same nonchalance?
