A fifth grader came in one morning this past week and asked if he could use a
computer to find some pictures for a Boy Scout badge he was trying to earn. He
then asked if I could help him find some pictures from the old days. Trying to
find out just what he was looking for, I asked what kind of pictures. He replied,
"You know, some with horses and stuff."
I asked if he needed a picture of pioneers, horses, wagons, etc. He said, "Well,
you know, they used to put those pictures on their walls."
I thought a minute and, light bulb beginning to flicker, asked if maybe he meant
the Lascoux wall paintings. His face lit up and he said, "Yeah, that's it." Don't
know how I made that leap, but it was worth it to see his eyes sparkle when we
found the pictures.
