As a fun activity in the days before vacation, I did World Almanac for
Kids Almania with 4th graders. It's like a Jeopardy game and provides
great practice in identifying key words and using an index.
The question was about authors using pen names instead of their real
names. The example - Mark Twain was really Samuel Clemens. After
reading this, one hand tentatively rose. Thinking she was unusually
quick in locating the answer, I was surprised to hear the following:
"Mrs. Brown, I thought Mark Twain was Shania Twain's husband!"
Needless to say this will be a moment to remember.
Happy Holidays Netters.
