Here are the responses that I received. If anyone has any other actual
lesson plans on a good way to teach MLA in-text citations and works cited I
would also be grateful. I am already familiar with the citation help on
the web - and I was looking for a good, enticing lesson plan. Thanks to
everyone who sent these responses!!
ORIGINAL MESSAGE:
Hello LM-NETTERS,
I was wondering if anyone has a really great lesson on how to teach MLA
in-text citations and creating a works cited? I will post a hit if I get
some great ideas. Thank you all in advance!!

Why don't you have them use NoodleBib express with all the help screens for
each field? They'll actually get specific help on the citation they're
working with and you can get more general help here:

we're working on about citing sources...

Do you mean parenthetical citations instead of /in-text/?
I like, use and instruct students to build citations using

You are welcome to use the citation slips that I have created. They are
designed to match EasyBib.com - but you can also use them to type your own
works cited list.
Here are the links:
MLA Citation Forms
http://www.gananda.org/library/mshslibrary/workscitedblanks.doc
The last link is not entirely up-to-date. I have added a back side to the
web citation slip because we require students to evaluate their web sites
before they put them on their works cited list. To find the new and
improved web citation form - plus the explanation of why we are using it -
check this blog post:
http://nlcommunities.com/communities/wanderings/archive/2007/10/15/148779.aspx
I also have a rubric that I use to grade works cited lists:
http://www.gananda.org/library/mshslibrary/wc rubric.doc
I will also send you an article I wrote for LMC about the unit I do with
our 9th, 10th & 12th graders. Most of the links in the article were
printed incorrectly - so you probably will not be able to use them - and I
have moved things in the past few years. But you might find some of it
helpful. I will email it directly from the database. If you don't get it
- let me know and I will try again.
