[LM_NET] OT: car recommendations

This is off topic- please respond to me personally.

I'm in desperate need of a new vehicle and have narrowed it down to three:
Toyota Rav-4, Honda CR-V or Jeep Compass

If you have any experience with these models- please let me know.  I'm interested 
in any hidden drawbacks- maintenance, reliability, things that wouldn't be apparent 
from a test drive or sales pitch.  My current car (2001 Subaru Forrester that I 
bought used) has cost thousands of dollars in maintenance and I can't afford to fix 
it anymore.

BTW: a new author to watch: Jay Asher.  I just read Th1rteen R3asons Why and was 
blown away.  It's intense and innovative with raw emotional impact.  (definitely 
not a middle school book- suicide, rape, bullying-  but one I'll be telling my
