Please excuse cross-postings that will occur.

As Chair-elect of the Children's Round Table (CRT) of the Texas Library Association
(TLA), I have the privilege of coordinating programs to be sponsored by CRT during
the 2009 TLA Annual Conference, which will be held in Houston, Texas from April 1-
4, 2009.

If you or a group would be interested in presenting a program under the sponsorship
of CRT during the 2009 conference please submit an informal proposal (not more than
one page) for consideration.
Please include:
-Name of presenter with contact information
-Prior presentations or publications
-Summary or outline of the program
-Objectives of the program
-Target audience
-Length
-Equipment needed
-Contact information for three references that are comfortable in discussing your
presentation.

Programs are 50, 80, or 110 minutes in length. However, half and full day
preconferences are a possibility.

The year 2006 was the last time TLA convened in Houston, an attendance record of
7, 537 was set. Of those 3,609 were school librarians, 1,177 were public
librarians, and 1,660 were exhibitors. Since TLA is the largest state library
association averaging 7,200 members, the annual conference is very well attended.
For example, this past year in San Antonio, attendance figures of 1,237 public
librarians, 3,812 school librarians, and 1,664 exhibitors were recorded.
Information concerning past conferences is available at
http://www.txla.org/conference/exhibits/exharchives.asp#2007sanantonio

If you should have any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
Shelly Lane, Children's Librarian
