Test your freshmen (or sophomores, juniors, or seniors) on their information
literacy skills!
I don't know if this was already mentioned on LM_NET, but here's a
reminder to have your freshmen take this TRAILS test (Tool for Real-time
Assessment of Information LIteracy Skills) on the computer when you have
them in for Orientation.
It is FREE and they can take the General Assessment (about 30 min) on their
ability to: Develop a topic; Identify potential sources; Develop, use and
revise search strategies; Evaluate sources and information; and Recognize
how to use information responsibly, ethically, and legally.
Multiple choice, 38 questions. This is a great diagnostic tool for you and
the classroom teacher.
