[LM_NET] question about list of great classroom reads with female protagonists

Hi folks - My English department is looking for some new classroom reads.
They want to add some contemporary literature especially some with female
leads. They will consider just about anything. Does anyone have or know of
some good book lists that I could look over? I am looking for books for 5th
and 6th graders, 7th and 8th graders and 9th -12th graders. (That is the way
our staff kind of breaks down.) They would use some longer books or some
quick reads as long as it is good quality. If there is anything you have
added lately, feel free to send me your own suggestions. :-) Thanks very
