Dear LM_NET Colleagues,

In June I will be teaching a Powerpoint workshop to teachers. We will be
using the Office 2003 version of PPT. I want to be able to demonstrate
some of the more useful features of this version, as well as some
little-known excellent features of PPT in general.

Please let me know if you have found any particulat uses, features or
capabilities of PowerPoint that you would recommend to teachers.

Here is one of my favorite features. I like to show websites using
PowerPoint, because it allows me to control (and count on) showing the
site in the way that I want to show it, without having to navigate "live".
(I am using WIN O/S.)

In order to do this I set my browser window to the same proportions as a
PPT frame, and do a screen capture of the webpage. Then I go to my
PowerPoint, which I also have open with a slide that I have previously set
up in this way: I use the slide with the content layout for inserting
images and objects, adjusting the frame so that it completely fills the
screen. When I am ready to insert my screen capture, all I have to do is
click on the object frame to select it, and use the past command to
precisely insert my website screen image. When I am planning a PPT slide
show with lots of website screen captures, i also create a PPT Template
with lots of slides that are ready to receive webpage screen captures, as
described above.

Please reply directly to me. I will post a Hit of my responses.
