A fifth grade teacher is using this book (Devil's Arithmetic) with his
class. I have not yet read it. A parent called and said that the book is
way too horific for fifth grade.

The reviews and reading level put this solidly at fifth grade. The parent
wasn't hysterical, seemed very nice, and had read the entire book, and still
felt it was more appropriate for an upper level.

What do you all think?

We are not being asked to take it off our shelves. She doesn't want the
teacher using it, thus forcing all kids to experience it. I'm reading it
tonight, but until then what do you all think?
