This past summer I took a book arts course. It focused on the art of the book not
the writing or even necessarily illustrating of the story, rather creating
decorative, covers, endpapers, different formats, etc.

I thought it would be cool where a student (we are a k-8 school) could come with
his or her parents and a story to then create a book. Using laptops for wp and art
supplies. I thought to have older more proficient students and maybe teachers on
hand to help with editing process etc.

I realize what I envision would almost if not in fact be impossible to do in one
night.

Have any of you had such an event? Do you have suggestions on either simplifying
the process so it could be done in a night or holding sessions over time? Any
thoughtful suggestions would be appreciated.
