[LM_NET] Need to know name of a book

A teacher asked me for a book that according to her is an old book with
pictures and the storyline is about a man that makes kites but when his
son leaves him he quit making kites. Eventually he starts making kites
every birthday of  his son.
I told the teacher I have this great listserv where great librarian can
answer just about anything!!!
