Barb's recent posting on Chris Van Allsburg reminded me of a thought earlier
today while processing. I have seen Chris' last name spelled both "Van
Allsburg" and "VanAllsburg" with no space between Van and Allsburg.
I was cataloging one of his books today and I have always filed them in the
V's (F VAN or E VAN). I was at a local Barnes & Noble store last year and they
had them filed in the A's...under Allsburg. So, is his last name "Allsburg"
or "VanAllsburg/Van Allsburg"? I know all the book vendors catalog it in the
"V's." At least every book I have purchased with MARC information has him as
such. Just a thought to make all you other control freaks begin wondering now
too! Ha...
Best wishes,
