Hello,
Back in 2005, the American Psychological Association
passed a resolution calling for the immediate retirement
of American Indian mascots, symbols, images, and
personalities used by schools, colleges, universities,
athletic teams, and organizations. Although they say
nothing about images in children's books, it seems to
me that APA's statement merits attention from those
of us involved in the creation, review, and selecting
of children's books.
