Thanks to everyone for your responses. I received several really practical
ideas.
I have discussed it with my principal and I am going to try this.
The students will not be allowed to test in the library or computer labs
unless their reading log has been signed by their teacher. The reasoning for
this is two fold. First the teacher knows their reading level better than me
and second, the teacher will know if the student is ready to test on the
book they are having her sign off on. This may include in the classroom
summaries or book reports about he book he or she is going to test on.
This method will also call attention to two or more students who are sharing
books or questions.
The reason I posted this HIT is because the students were cheating in their
classroom on a picture book with only 5 questions. The students lost their
AR points and their spring field trip.
Thanks
