With the way companies have merged, there isn't much beyond Follett
out there.
She might try cataloging for free on Library Thing: http://
www.librarything.com/about.php
You can get Library of Congress (or amazon.com) records. Students,
staff, and families could access it online (I think!).
She might also be able to get a copy of "Your Home Library" by the NY
Public Library--I found it as a remainder last year (I think at
Borders Books) for $6.99--original price $40. (ISBN 0-7624-1556-8)--
amazon.com has it for $30.40. It includes software, a paperback book,
and a cloth binder & paper (for a shelf list?). It is by a cataloger
from NYPL. It did not get rated well by amazon.com users, but she
could read their comments and get some other ideas from what those
people ended up doing (making their own using Paradox, Microsoft
Access, etc.)
Some users there also recommended software called "Book Collector"
from http://www.collectorz.com $49.95) or Readerware from http://
www.readerware.com/ ($40), which can read barcodes, then searches
online for info on the books.
Best of luck!
