Hello. Currently, our elementary library instruction is not a special. We operate
on a flexible basis between two schools. On an average, we see about 50 classes
per week. At this time, we are required to fill out a "whole class" report card;
each student in the class receives the same report card with the same grade. The
report card has several indicators and is the same for grades k-5. Our current
grading system is B (beginning), P (progressing), and S (secure).
Next week, we are meeting to re-design our report card. Many of us would like to
move to a classroom newsletter format where each teacher receives a newsletter. I
feel it's really the only way parents will know what their kids come to the media
center for, as, our list of current indicators are very non-descript. Those who
are required to report, do any of you have examples you'd be willing to forward
that we can use as a springboard for somewhere to start? Any suggestions are
greatly appreciated as well!
Please respond off list.
Thanks,
Liz Allen
