[LM_NET] MS: Author visit by Priscilla Cummings

Hi,

I want to report back that Priscilla Cummings (Red Kayak, A Face First, and Saving 
Grace) came to our middle school yesterday and did an excellent job. 

She used transparencies and talked about how she gets her ideas for her stories, 
how she does her research, her many re-writes, and her background.  She did three 
assemblies, one for each grade level, 6th, 7th, and 8th.  At each one she 
emphasized a different book.  The students responded well to her talks, asked good 
questions, and several inquired afterward about how to go about getting published.  
One of our students had been badly burned when his house exploded and she spent at 
least 1/2 hour talking with him privately.  Her publisher offered her books at a 
40% discount.  Many people at school came up to me today to express how much they 
had enjoyed her yesterday.

I would recommend her as a guest author.  Feel free to ask me any questions.
