I want to let everyone know that I received more help from LM_Net regarding
changing my Quicktime format videos to AVI so I can edit them in Windows
Movie Maker.
Shonda suggested Digital Media Converter. There is a free trial at
http://www.deskshare.com/dmc.aspx
First I tried the free download of Digital Media Converter. It worked like a
top because it searched all of my files and loaded all of the .mov files I
wanted to convert and then converted them to avi files. However, since it
was just an evaluation version, my video files were tagged right across the
middle of the screen.
I then tried the rad video tools program which is free (they ask for
donations). I found that I would have to find each file I wanted to convert
and click on it to load it for converting. Since I have over 350 clips to
convert, I decided not to use RadVideo tools. (If I had my files better
organized, this wouldn't be such a problem.)
I went back to the Digital Media Converter and purchased the full version
($39.95). Now I have to re-convert all of the files that I had already
converted with the trial but at least it makes it easy.
