Today I went to the Library of Congress to download some marc records. When I got
ready to download I saw that there are now two choices of marc records, MARC
(Unicod/UTF-8) and MARC (non-Unicod/MARC-8). I downloaded both of them and
imported them into Athena to see what might be different. Both imported into
Athena without problems and appear to be identical. Is there a cataloging guru out
there who can tell me what the difference is? Do I need to worry about it if
Athena has no problems with either one?
