Tana Hoban's obit in the New York Times yesterday was lovely--photo & all.
I never did get to meet her, but I remember seeing her at ALA one year,
wearing a long flowing skirt and bright red high-top sneakers. She looked great.
What a cool lady. As an aside, when she was a young photographer in Philadelphia
in the 1940s (and the Times obit talked about how she became known for her
photos of children), she took my brother Richard's baby pictures! Her name is on
them. I've always loved that. I was too tongue-tied to go up & tell her. Wish
I had. . .
