I got a chance to look at many recently published children's books and
remembered some requests that have come up a number of times on this
list, so I thought someone might be able to use this info:
Walk On! A Guide for Babies of All Ages, by Marla Frazee, is a K-3 book
with very funny illustrations and many large speech bubbles. It would
also be good for anyone "walking on" to a new part of life in the same
way that Oh! The Places You'll Go is often given as a graduation gift.
The Book of Story Beginnings, by Kristin Kladstrup, is listed on
Titlewave for Gr. 5-8. It reminds me of a text version of The Mysteries
of Harris Burdick, which is often used by those beyond picture book age
to inspire story writing. From Titlewave: " Notes: After moving with
her parents to Iowa, twelve-year-old Lucy discovers a mysterious
notebook that can bring stories to life and which has a link to the 1914
disappearance of her great uncle."
Hope someone out there can use one of these!
